Throwing User defined Message in Web scripts

I am having the User Defined 404 Messages in my Web script.

I have  my .404.ftl also , but, File is not getting called and not showing the message. Instead I am getting browser 404 Message.

Am I missing anything, any help is appricited.

Some browsers, such as IE will show the default message unless the returned page is over a certain size.

You could try adding some more content to the 404.ftl file to see if this helps.
