Dear friends,

    I managed to setup the alfresco and then managed to log into the portal interface. then somehow when I tried to log in again it didn't work. It highlited the following red sentence underneath:

The Home Space node referenced by Id: 8b8e8e45-4767-11da-a342-25cb66a78a4d cannot be found. It may have been deleted from the database. Please contact your system administrator.

What is the problem? howcome suddenly this error comes out?

Can you give us a bit more detail about the version you are using (RC2?), what platform (Win?), whether you have previous installs, whether you have changed any configurations?

I am using Alfresco Jboss bundle RC2 on Linux Fedora Core 2.

I managed to install alfresco fine, got into the web portal by the default user admin. then I played around, didnt change any of the configuration. All I did was created a space named User and project. then I added users.  Suddenly when I logged out and tried to log in again it gave me that error message.

Any idea?

The error suggests that the Home Space for that user has been deleted (either through playing around or deleted by another user…?)

You can login as "admin" to reset the home space for that user.

  thanks a lot for your help. I tired to log in with admin account, but admin also gives me the same error. Can it be possible that the user space of admin also gets deleted?

Hi,

The admin user Home Space is the Company Home which is the root of all visible spaces - if that's been deleted then that's not good, however saying that, there is code that checks to make sure the Company Home exists. If it doesn't exist you would see this error message on the console when you try to access the client:

Root path has not been configured

Do you see this message on the console?

Hi,

I've more or less the same issue. I want to make an EXACT copy of my production system to a test server so I copied the data, database and alfresco folder to the new server, started the other installation and imported my LDAP users. When I now try to logon it gives me the same error message:

The Home Space node referenced by Id: 4d2d1da6-c6ee-11db-a72d-ed3f3fe9ee37 cannot be found. It may have been deleted from the database. Please contact your system administrator.‍

I remember doing this some other time and that worked so what am I doing wrong here?

This error does not show up in the alfresco.log, only in the web client. I'm loging in with and administrator (defined in the configuration).

Should this ID be available in the database? Can't find it in the node table but there is some reference in the node_status table:

I have the same issue. I have deleted lucene-indexes, edited repository.properties, restarted Alfresco and rebuild indexes. Log looks okay…. but my admin user is not able to log in.

I use Alfresco 2.0 on this "uname machine":

I can log in as any other user. When I try to invite other user and I list users to choose one of them, I can see two “admin” users, one of them is the real and the other is new. I know because the real one says “(Admin) Miguel Gil” .
I can log as Admin via samba, and I see Home Space directories, so no data has been lost.
What can I do to fix it? What do I delete from database?.
