Hello Everyone! I have around 500,000 files (.tif) for uploading (via ftp) to Alfresco but all these files have the ampersand or the "&" character in their filenames. Alfresco would not recognize this character thus giving the error: & is an invalid character. Question! How do I make Alfresco accept this character any character in a filename? Any reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas!
This constraint has been removed in more recent versions of Alfresco. If you don't want to upgrade, you can modify the constraint in contentModel.xml, look for this line: <constraint name="cm:filename" type="REGEX">
Hi Kevin, Thank you very much for your reply. What I did was look for a third party program that could rename all my files and I found Bulk Rename Utility. I just replace the "&" into "AND" and it went well. I am planning to upgrade Alfresco within the first quarter of 2008 so I guess I wouldn't be needing Bulk Rename Utility anymore.
