Textfile blank after upload

Hi,

after smoothly installing Alfresco 4.0b everything is running nice and fast.
All kind of files are stored safely and readable in a document library but when I add plain text files they contain nothing after adding.
Most of the text files I created with Notepad++ and most of them are blank after uploading them. Some of them keep their content but I do not see any differences.
Also text files created on my Mac (with TextEdit or TextWrangler) contain data after uploading them to Alfresco Share.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers,
Uli

I've seen this issue with 4.0.b, it uploads 0-byte files for text based content.
I cannot find and a filed issue for it though, but from my tests it is fixed in the nigthly http://dev.alfresco.com/downloads/nightly/dist/

I'm sorry, but I do not find anything how to update my Alfresco 4.0b to 4.0c.
Downloaded the alfresco-community-upgrade-4.0.c-linux.bin from the nightlys but nothing happens when I start it (after making it executable) with ./alfresco-community-upgrade-4.0.c-linux.bin…

Help is appreciated…

Uli

Download the community zip (don't have the complete name just now), then just change the alfresco.war and share.war. No need to run the full installer.
Remember to do backup first etc…

Or do you mean that the installer just do not run? Make it executable with chmod u+x installer name.bin

Thanks, I will try it like this, remember this from earlier Alfresco trials  Smiley Happy

That's what I already did, but the mentioned file is not starting at all…

Did the exchange of the .war files and restarted the service but Alfresco still thinks it is running this version:
Alfresco Community v4.0.0(b 3835) schema 5019

…and the problem is not fixed.

Is there anything else to do to activate the new .war files or do I have to change anything else?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Uli

Did you delete the existing expanded folder? Else tomcat might not unpack the new war files.

Yes, I did, but something was screwed up…
I did a new installation but this also wasn't easy with the nightly builds, I always got a error when Java should have been installed.
Today there was a little time and a new nightly build, so everything's up and running, text files keep their content!

Thanks for your support and patience!!

Cheers,
Uli
