There was no chance that issue would get fixed since the ETWOTWO project is now obsolete and Alfresco 2.2 is only open for important Enterprise fixes driven by Alfresco Support. I've closed it as "won't fix".
There's a low priority duplicate in the ALFRESCO project that may be fixed sometime. ALF-2820. Please feel free to vote for that issue. Or contribute a fix.
