Sync to Cloud with an internet proxy

We are running Alfresco 4.2 enterprise, I have enabled the sync to cloud settings on the alfresco server.

I can browse and log into my alfresco cloud site using my user from a browser session on the server, yet cannot verify my sync to cloud settings on Share when accessed from a domain client.

I expect the tomcat / java engine(?) is not using the proxy as defined in the Windows server (as demonstrated working in IE on the server)

Would I expect to have to configure this proxy somewhere - and if so where?

Standard java proxy settings should work.
