SSO and LDAP Configuration

We are using alfresco community version 4.2.c on a linux centos 64 bit box.

Ok so here is my question. We are going to be using alfresco for mainly teachers and staff, but I'm wondering if there is an option to have a site created for a SSO.

Here is the issue. We have teachers and staff that will be using alfresco for their document management. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a site for families to access (kids school work…etc).
It would have to require the following:
That there would be a single sign on for all users (families).
Only be able to access that one site.
Not be able to search for other sites.(or request to join)

This might be beyond the scope of what alfresco can do which is fine, but if anyone has some ideas that they could throw at me, it would help determine if I should scrap this idea altogether and just stick with in-house access for users(LDAP).

you could create a public site for families and set all other sites as private.
