Some feature to add or modify?

Not applicable
Hi everybody,

I was requested (as part of a university project) to provide one feature addition, one modification and one deletion applied to an Open Source project. My partner and me have chosen (but suggestion are welcomed) Alfresco Document Management to work on.

We don't have much time (unfortunately) to assign to these activities so we are asking something that may seem trivial. We have estimated that we can't assing more than 30-35 hours of development to each feature (We also have to write its unit tests, class diagrams, user stories, etc in about 60 hours per feature) . But maybe in this 30-35 hours we can develop something that you would the product would have.

Any suggestion would very helpful. We would be gratefully helped if you could point out what to do and me put a sand grain in this project.

The only restrictions are:
- Estimated effort: 30-35 hs.
- Language: JAVA

A couple of ideas from these forums.
a)  A metadata extractor for AutoCad (or other Design files)
b)  Support for Geo-spatial property types.   (May be a bit too big for your time available? Good design challenge though)

An idea on my wishlist
a) WCM deployment target for CouchDB.

There's also a long list of "Enhancement" requests in Alfresco's JIRA system (issues.alfresco.com).    Some of them must be suitable for your project.

Hi,

I've looking at Alfresco Jira and I became interested in this BUG https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ETHREEOH-3021.

Based on that, I downloaded Alfresco source code and imported it in NetBeans… but I don't have a clue where the code that does this function is. After importing the mentioned projects, only these appear as projects: Alfresco JLAN, Core, Web Framework, WebScript Framework

Where should I look for this code?
Any document I should read?

Any help will be very appreciated.

For that particular issue, you need the Web-Client project and Repository projects.
