SMTP-Authentification

Hello everybody,

Actually I'm testing Labs 3 if we can use it can achieve our requirements.

Because of testing I'm trying to use a freemail account (gmx) for outsending mails.

When I try to send any mail I only get the following exception:
com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 550 5.7.0 Need to authenticate via SMTP-AUTH-Login {mp048}


Is there a chance to get a freemailaccount working with Labs 3?

Hello,

after a lot of testing I have some success but son't know how to go on.

Actually I'm getting a SMTP 554 Error which says that Transaction failed (invalid MAIL/RCPT or DATA).

I think the problem is that there is still the senderadress alfresco@alfresco.org.

I've already changed the mail.from.default (in reporitory.properties) value to the value of my sender adress and I've changed the from-email-adress in file web-client-config-custom.xml.

Is there any other place where I have to set change the adress or is there anything else what can cause that error?

I would be very thankful for a short replay.

Hi,

if You are sending a message from a "Content rule" You should delete this content rule and recreate it.

Hello,

no I'm not trying to send a mail via a rule.
I just want to send a Mail to all users which are privileraged for a site. I also created a new side after changing all settings but the problem is still there.

Some minutes ago I saw that the sender adress changed successfully. But there is still the SMTP 554 error.
I don't know why I get that error …

Has anyone had the same error or know what can cause that error?
SMTP authentification is enabled …

Has anyone any idear?

I've configured the outgoing mail as you can read here:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/E-mail_Configuration

I only set those values in repository.properties: username, password, port, server, smtpauth, default adress, …

It looks like Lab3 is picking the information vorrectly.
Or is there another tink taht must be set up as discriped in your link (custom-repository-context.xml)?

Are there both settings neccessary?

I am having some problem sending emails from alfresco

Here is how I configured my repository.properties file

mail.host=mail.dnsexit.com
mail.port=995
mail.username=faisal   
mail.password=***********
# Set this value to UTF-8 or similar for encoding of email messages as required
mail.encoding=UTF-8
# Set this value to 7bit or similar for Asian encoding of email headers as required
mail.header=testmail
mail.from.default=faisalneaz21@gmail.com

when i do something that should trigger an email action. It just hangs my computer. I mean it keeps on showing busy and does nothing.

Can anybody please help me with this.
