Site invitation email not sent

Hello,

I recently installed Alfresco4 with the exact same config that my previous alfresco3.4 server.
The email configuration is still working since I receive the news feed emails or the user following notifications.
However, when I invite a user (or a group) to a site, I don't get the invitation email.

I get the confirmation message that 1 invitation was sent out, 0 failed.
I can see the invitation in "my tasks" when I connect so it was correctly added.
I have nothing in my logs.
Nothing related with the invitation email could be found in the inbox or sent mails of the gmail account I use to send mails.
The email field in the profile of the user I try to invite is a valid email.

So… Has anything changed in the way Share handles invitations in this new version or am I missing something?

Config:
Ubuntu 64bits
Alfresco Community v4.0.0 (a 3755) schema 5018
alfresco-global.properties:

mail.host=smtp.gmail.com
mail.port=465
mail.protocol=smtps
mail.username=**********@gmail.com
mail.password=***********
mail.encoding=UTF-8
mail.from.default=**********@gmail.com
mail.smtps.starttls.enable=true
mail.smtps.auth=true

Thanks for your time.

there is an extra setting in the global.propertities, which you need to set it to true in order to send the invitaiton email.

Thanks for answering.

Is that a guess or did you make it work?
Is it new with Alfresco4? Is it documented somewhere?

### E-mail site invitation setting ###
notification.email.siteinvite=false

in shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties

Did you try changing it to true and it didn't work ?

I had same problem, but this solved it pretty much Smiley Happy

Solved! Thanks a lot!

I thought true was the default value… This one should definitely be in the sample file, I looked all around the internet for it.

A point for you! thanks again!

I am having the same problem. The test email works correctly, but site invites are not sent, even after setting the configuration on global.properties. Using version 4.2c.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tiago Baptista

Me to. I use google account for the email. First the Google account which I use for sending emails blocked the email because it was suspicious. I stated at the google account that it is mine.
But it still can't send messages any more. I use 4.2c

Can you please let us know what have you done for this email issue.

Thanks
