Hi,

I've looked at the Alfresco book by Munwar Shariff and notice it seems to cover version 1.4. We are using version 2.1 - is the book still relevent to me?

Many thanks,

Ian.

The Alfresco Book (http://www.packtpub.com/alfresco/book) is focused on "Document Management" capabilities of Alfresco and targeted for beginners and users.  Though the book is written for 1.4, most of the items covered in the book are valid even for the 2.2 version.  I am planning to update this book for the upcoming “Alfresco 3.0” release and release in November 2008 timeframe.

The new book by Jeff, which is planned to be released in October (http://www.packtpub.com/alfresco-developer-guide/book), covers the most recent and advanced developer topics including WCM, Web Scripts and Workflows.

These two books are written for two different target audiences.

Dear Munwar,
any news regarding the updated release? Will the new release also cover the RMS module?

Looking forward!
Thx Clemens

Now that Alfresco 4.0 has been released, I am curious if the 2009 version of this text will still be useful to someone getting started with implementing Alfresco. Any thoughts, or ideas on when a new version of this (or another) book may be available?
