Sharepoint PDF

Sharepoint emulation with my Office docs works great. Is it possible to do the same with PDFs? Acrobat and Bluebeam Revu both have capabilities to do online editing and check-in/check-out from with the application with Sharepoint, but it doesn't work with Alfresco. (I can login from Bluebeam, but it doesn't see a valid document library; Acrobat sees documents but can't check-in/check-out). This would be a great feature for Alfresco – I don't want to go back to Sharepoint!

do you know any details / specifics of the technologies those products use for providing their online editing features? Maybe this is something that Alfresco already provides (i.e. WebDAV) and only minor modifications are required to support them.

I'm afraid I don't know any more, just that Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam Revu work the same way with pdf files in Sharepoint, although a little better in Bluebeam Revu. I'm sure you're correct that the modification would be minor since it seems to 'almost' work now.

Based on the info I got from Bluebeam web resources, Bluebeam really appears to use "plain" SharePoint Protocol and there should really be only minor modifications necessary to potentially fix remaining issues.
Might have to check out a trial version of Acrobat XI for their level of SharePoint support…
