Sharepoint functionality

Hi,

I tried to search throught the forums, but didn't find an answer… Is it possible to have the sharepoint connector point to the "company home" repository for all users instead of the "sites" under "company home"? I kind of hoped the vti.share.documentLibrary would do that trick, but this property isn't used (yet…?).
Is there any other way, so users can work on our documentation as placed under the company home? Or should i have another document structure so all users can edit / read the same docs from within word (or other office apps Smiley Happy )

Hello,

the SharePoint connector is conceptionally tied to the context of sites. It cannot be used to work with files in the Repository, i.e. under Company Home but not in a site - even if you could find a way to manipulate URLs or path information via configuration.
So for users to work with your documents within Office (without falling back to the pain that is CIFS in Windows) you will need a site.

Regards
Axel

Thx for the answer Axel.
I also read about linking documents to sites… is that only possible for documents or also for maps?

What kind of "maps" do you refer to?
Basically, you can link any node / object into the documentlibrary of a site. Depending on what that node represents and how it is modelled, standard features can or cannot work with it in the linked location.
