Sharepoint and Windows 7

Hello,

I'm setting up an alfresco instance; I have alfresco 3.3 running on Ubuntu server (hardy) and I'm trying to set things up with Sharepoint.  I have it working on a Windows Vista after running the regsitry hack to enable basic authentication.  It is working well on my client and running fine.  I'm now trying it on another computer which is Windows 7; I did the same regsitry hack but the other computer cannot seem to authenticate properly either through MS Office or via Add Network Location in Windows Explorer

That computer can access the shre and alfresco web apps and access files so it seems to be an authentification problem.  I've tried with SSO and without and still nothing (though SSO works as you would expect).

I've seen a lot of messages about it but no clear answer apart from the registry hack.  Is there anything else I can try - especially enabling authentifiication which doesn't require the registry hack; that would be good Smiley Happy.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Neil

Hello,

We've been doing some research here and have found some information about WebDAV on windows 7 regarding a bug in server-discovery for windows 7.  The bug details when the root of the website is not WebDAV enabeld (as I think alfresco is not).  The url I got the informaiton from is here (http://greenbytes.de/tech/webdav/webdav-redirector-list.html#issue-server-discovery) and the MS link is here (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=831805).

To get round this I thought of making the root of the website WebDAV enabled (or automatically forwarding a call to <server>:7070 to <server>:7070/alfresco) - is this an idea?  Is the issue I found above even of any concern or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Cheers,

Neil

Hello,

Another point to bear in min here is that when the registry hack is made in windows & the folder actually appears windows explorer of Windwos 7 but it shows a connection error to
\\localhost:7070\DavWWWRoot\alfresco. I getting pretty desperate here if anyone helps me to solve this I'll put 100 GBP into any charity or open soruce project (as long as it is not offensive!) that the correct answerer leads me to.

Regards,

Neil
