Setting access permissions selectivly for contents in a spac

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to give selective access to contents (files) in a space. i.e users belonging to Role 1 should be able to see a particular set of files in the space, and users under Role 2 should be able to see another set of files. All these files will reside together in the space, we dont want to copy them to other spaces to achieve this.

This has to be done on runtime usng Web service API's. It can be done through Access Control Webservice by looping through the contents and setting the owner appropriatly but just wanted to know if there is any better way to do this.

no, I permissions at spacel level aren't enough aou have to use tne next deeper level, the documents.
