Hi all
here i open up a new topic to write how we can add own aspects, types to documents and change existing ones.
I start studying some code in tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/slingshot/
but i still can't add my aspect to document.
My final goal is /will be if i learn enough  Smiley Happy  to change all metadata for serias, category, folders and records.
First question is this possible? To change and overwrite default metadata.
To be more clear so that shoud all understand what i want to reach.
Serias has thoose matadata
Name:
Title:
Description:
Record Series Identifier:

Folder have these metadata
Name:
Description:
Title:
Review Period:
Period Expression
Location:
Vital Record Indicator
Record Folder Identifier:
Supplemental Marking List:
<No options available>

So my second question is:Where can i find source for default metadata?
The 3rd one isSmiley Frustratedimple tutorial how to include aspect, type to share? Which files do i new to create?Where do i have to change configuration?
Help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
I am able to add/edit metadata on my test site for each document.
In Document Actions i have option manage aspects where i can add new aspect to document.Every thing works just fine,i can add and edit metadata. Smiley Very Happy
But if i look at records managment site in uploaded records i just see edit metadata no option to add new aspect
Can please someone explain me how can i add aspect with metadata to record in rm site.

OK,

Firstly, changing all the metadata for Record Series, Category, Folder is a complex task and represents invasive changes to the Alfresco RM module. Many of these metadata are used to drive RM-specific behaviours in both the UI and in the back-end layers. So major changes to these metadata might mean rewriting much of the module. Not impossible, of course, but not a trivial task.

Maybe you just want to add some new metadata to these types. You can do that using custom properties and/or custom associations available as a User Dashlet.

Don't forget that Alfresco's RM module is designed to be used exclusively through the Share web interface. The web (JSF) interface is not intended to be used for RM and indeed should not be used. It sounds from your posting like you are using that interface.
There is no way AFAIK to "add an aspect" through the RM Share UI - at least not as you describe it.
