Security and Permission

Hello ,
I want to manage permission on one space where user can just read and add the content . So I have configured it by providing Contributor Permission to that user.

My understanding about the Contributor Role is as :

1. User should have Read and add content permission
2. In any case specified user can not delete the content.

But when I configured it,
1.It works fine with the old content added by other users
2.User has delete permission on the content which he has added even Contributor role has provided for the user.

So ,how I can configured permission , If I want assign permission on space to the user where user can not delete content in any case .

Hi ashwini,

There are few things which you can check:
1. Please logged in with user other than the owner of the  content.
2. Please check if you have configure "Inherit Parent Space Permission ". Make this unchecked and notice the difference.

I have checked this .
Other users cant delete the content but owner of the content can do delete.

Is it possible to change the owner once the content get uploaded Or how I can do this.

If you have any idea then Please share with me

Yes , you can change the owner of the  content. Please check the action "Take Ownership"   in Details Action list.

I didnt found Take ownership in Share Repository

Alfresco Explorer:
To do this as we follow view details  and then we will find take ownership under Action section

Alfresco Share Repository:
Share does not have take ownership on view details page for Folders.(After Clicking View Details link for Folder )
Share does not  have view Details for Content


Is it possble to do this by any other way  ?

As far as I know , you can do from  Alfresco Explorer . In order to have this action in Share , you have to customize it.
Apart from the user interface , you can  do from API.

For removing delete permission from document uploader/creator, One can attach cmwnable aspect to the document.
