Searching by FolderType

I created a custom FolderType and I successfully search for folders of that FolderType.  I was wondering if their a way to search for files by the FolderType that they exist in. An example would be creating a FolderType named "Special Project" and I want to search for all excel files named customer*.xls that are in a "Special Project" folder.

Any ideas of how to best accomplish this?

If you are using the Advance Search from the Alfresco DM, the left hand side has various options of which the "Look Location" section has the option to select the folder. Select the link "Click here to select a space" and  select the folder you wish to perform the search on documents.
