Search with wildcard returns different results

Hello,

I have an Alfresco 3.4.d deployment and recently I have been observing a weird behaviour.
While in Alfresco DM a search with fora* returns the following results:
file1
file2

A search with for* returns the following results:
file1
file3

After looking at the usual suspects (permissions, i.e.) I fail to understand why this behaviour occurs.
Any one with the same issue?

Yes ideally for second search for*  it should return you the
file1
file2
file3

But It will not be anything related to permissions if you are doing it with the same user.
* is a wild card character which you must be knowing.
Also if you post your full query it will give more insight.

Yes, ideally the result of search #2 should be files 1,2 and 3.
And that's what I'm finding weird.

I am not sure if I understand what you mean by posting the "full query". Can you please advise?

Please add details for:

1) Where the text you expected to match can be found - name, title, content, ….
2) The text which should match
3) The machine/user/content/mltext locales
4) The exact queries and how they were run - were they using the same query API - in the same session - where did you type the query string and what did you ttpe ….

Hi all,

What happens is very simple to reproduce in my environment.
Using the top right corner search in Alfresco DM and performing the search logged in as admin.
Query string is swam*
Returns file 1 and file 2 (occurences can be found in filename and content, i.e. swamp)

Query string swa*
Returns file 1 and file 3 (occurences can be found in filename and content, i.e. swamp, swamped, swarm)

Question is: Why doesn't file2 show up in the second query string?

Yes, ran them in the same session, with the same username (admin)
