Search not working

Hi all, I just installed community version 4.0d and have been checking out the product.  Everything works perfect except the search does not seem to work.

I've uploaded some files and entered some tags and don't get any hits on simple searches (using the search box on the upper right corner of the site). 

Is there a specific log file I need to check for errors?  If so can you point me to the location?

Hi,

The SSL Certs for Solr have expired in 4.0d, you need to use version 4.0e instead.

Is there anyway I can disable ssl for my particular setup of alfresco?  I'm assuming I need to update a few config files.  I'm just not sure which ones
