Search Hit Highlighting in Documents

Hi,

I´ve been wondering whether it is possible to implement Hit Highlighting within Documents.
To make clear what I mean. If a user searches for a certain Keyword or some Keywords, the occurences of those Keywords in the Document should be highlighted.

Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea how to realize this

Do you guys know if this is possible?
How would you tackle such a Task?

I have seen this done. The one I've seen does not highlight it in the document (you'd have to use some sort of overlay with the previewer) but does show a synopsis of the text in the search results page and highlights the terms found within that on the search results page.
