Run WorkFlows automatically

Hi,
     Anybody know how to run the work flows defined to a space automatically with the server?
     ie, I need to start a work flow whenever a document is uploaded to a space.

This is best done via a custom rule that initiates the "start workflow" action whenever a document is added to the space.
