According to the wiki:

Roadmap for Community edition Q1 2006
Image Management - Add simple image management providing the capture of images using a Windows/TWAIN interface, OCR and full-text search of the content. Because of the tools being used, this application will be GPL and managed as a separate project.

I am curious about the specifics of this project. What is its name? Full text search even of tiff files ? Wow. Where can I find out more of what it will do.?  Any comments would be greatly appreciated !

This is one of the most requested capabilities of our system and one that we have had several partners express interest in implementing. Also, there is no open source image management system that we are aware of.

The implementation would necessarily be GPL and so would be a separate project. Open source imaging tools such as image viewers and OCR are GPL and thus would infect our MPL license, but they do exist.

I'll be starting an Imaging thread in the forum over the next couple of weeks to encourage discussion and contributions.

I am searching for document imaging information for Alfresco and this is about the best thing I could find.  Is there any further discussions or progress on this?  I couldn't find anything on the Wiki either.

I am interested in using Alfresco to integrate document mgmgt (PDF) and image management (Faxes and scans) with a BPM system for account processing.  Looking for some use cases or best practices on doing this with Alfresco.
