RM Community upgrade path

what is the recommended upgrade path for RM from Alfresco Community 3.4.d to 4.2.c ?

Upgrading Records Management is like any other Alfresco upgrade. Documentation is here:

You should be able to go directly from 3.4 to 4.2 with no interim upgrades.
