reuse content rules in different spaces

Is there any way to define a content rule in a given space and copy it to a different space?
For example, if I define a rule for automatically sending an email whenever a document is uploaded in the "folder 1" space, and name it "sending email", is there a way to copy the "sending email" rule from the space "folder 1" to the space "folder 2" without having to rewrite the whole rule again?

I know that it is possible to copy entire spaces with its own rules copied, too, but I want to be able to copy rules indivudually to be able to combine them.

Hi there!

Did you manage to find a solution to this problem?
Because I am also interested in this topic and I found your post while browsing the forum.

Thanks a lot in advance.

If it's possible to reuse content rules, I would like to know about it too, it would save me a lot of time Smiley Happy

Hi

I have to add a new content rule to several existing spaces, so copying one space wich has the rule is not an option.
Is there a faster way to do this than to create a new rule in all these spaces one by one?

Kind regards
Mieke

I have not managed to find an easy and successfull workaround to this problem. Currently the only way I know to copy rules is to copy the workspace that contains them.

The only method that I can figure out about it is to write a script which travels through the tree node of a workspace to the involved rule and makes a deep copy of the rule node and all of its descendants, but, besides this procedure is likely to require a lot of work, it is also very prone to have a lot of lateral effects, because there is no documentation about the storage of the rule nodes (at least I have not found it). Hence we risk to miss any link of the rule which might not be stored under that node.
