Rest API required by demo

Hi,

   I am new to this forum.  Been playing around with 5.9 version for my company to use.  It seems like the Explorer can run without Rest app installed, though the demo packaged with it.  My question is what components depend on this.  Is it safe for me to deploy the Explorer without the Rest?  I could not get a good answer from the documentation.  If anyone has any insights, please let me know.

It's totally safe to use explorer without rest. Explorer uses the activiti java api instead of the rest-api (it used to use the rest-api, long time ago, when app was not yet vaadin).
