Hello all,

I've tried to post on the french forum, and I put a new post here, if someone can help me…

On last week, we encountered errors during the week-end (logs files have been deleted since this time…). We have decided to make a full index recovery :

wednesday : 14:36:53,040 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent] Récupération de linx débutée : {0} transactions.
wednesday : 15:35:15,122 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      10 % achevé.
wednesday : 17:46:46,666 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      20 % achevé.
wednesday : 21:28:00,668 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      30 % achevé.
thirsday : 02:37:45,475 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      40 % achevé.
thirsday : 08:17:04,406 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      50 % achevé.
thirsday : 13:42:09,411 INFO  [node.index.FullIndexRecoveryComponent]      60 % achevé.
it's 08h04 AM on Saturday and the rebuild has not reached the 70% yet !!! (it means we are on 60% for almost 43 hours now !!!)
No error message. Cpu at 100%… I have searched everwhere, without clue… If one of you have an idea… We add 1 year of documents in Alfresco… And our backups didn't work since 06th of june…

Do you think that recovering the lucene-indexes from this date and trying a index.recovery.mode=AUTO would help ?

About the reason why Alfresco crashed last week, do you think that the backup operation (a Tina licence on the full linux server) would have made Alfresco crash during the lucene-indexes backup ?

If you have other proposals, ideas, clues… We are in the hurry and loose our faith… HELP !!!

Greg

Hi,
If you are running Alfresco in a production environment and need urgent assistance then it sounds like you could really do with getting a support contract - the Alfresco support team would be the best route to give you all the help you would need to get your production environment back operational with minimal delays.

We have contacted the official support. The answer was that we had to switch to enterprise version, which we don't want… We want some support on our production server which is alfresco community 2.1…

Thanks anyway

Hi Everybody,

We have succesfully restored our Alfresco repository with everything. We had a backup on a tape which we didn't tried…

Anyway, for those who are interested, it's of course possible to find the documents in an Alfresco repository. Alfresco only rename the documents with an internal id + bin extension.

A script for searching extension type and some determined words in the bin has given us the ability to retrieve mandatory documents we were looking for…

I'm sure that with a little work it would be possible to write an aop class putting the original document filename with the new one created with Alfresco, for making such a recovery easy.

Don't you think it would be useful ?

n.b. : of course, we're working now on a high availability Alfresco DMS !

Best regards,
Greg
