References for new developers?

Hi,

I'm new around here and although I've been a software developer for years, I'm new to the J2EE world.  I like what I see of Alfresco so far, but part of my decision to use it is how much work it's going to be to get myself up to speed so I can customize it.  I've poked around a bit and see that some of the pieces like Hibernate and Spring have tutorials on their sites, but I know from painful experience that those can be of dubious quality.  So I was wondering if those of you with more time in this trench could talk about some of your favorite resources, either online or books, for learning and then using these tools?

I would be happy to compile a list and put it on the Wiki if the powers that be would approve.

thanks,

janine

C'mon, you all must have learned this stuff at some point - doesn't anyone have some favorite references materials or tutorials?

Hi,

Have a look here for an intro to Spring http://rabbit.caruana.co.uk/software/archives/2005/02/spring_start.html

This was prodcued by our Chief Architect and are the examples most of us used to get started with Spring.

Hope this helps,

Roy
