2. Click ok to to run checkin out action
3. Error prompt appears "no parameters for action"

I am using alfresco 2.1

I found the solution. I made a simple test and understand the issue.

Scenario 1 - Fails (Not a valid Alfresco CIFS folder)
1. Map network with following URL -> \\alfresco_a\alfresco\folderA
2. Drag & Drop onto __Checkinout.exe
3. Exception with "Not a valid Alfresco CIFS folder"

Scenario 2 - Fails (no parameters for action)
1. Map network with following URL -> \\alfresco_a\alfresco\folderA
2. Open \\alfresco_a\alfresco\folderA\folderB
3. Drag & Drop onto __Checkinout.exe
4. Exception with "no parameters for action"

Scenario 3 - Success
1. Map network with following URL -> \\alfresco_a\alfresco
2. Open \\alfresco_a\alfresco\folderA
3. Drag & Drop onto __Checkinout.exe
4. Document is Checked out

Conclusion: The parent folder that is mapped cannot be a workspace (folder) in alfresco.

Give it a try and let me know whether my test is accurate. Cheers!

Hi sandman,

I checked the scenario 3 and I obtained the following error: "username or password are unknown". On the other hand when I checked the scenarios 1 and 2 I don't get errors with user and password, but I get the same errors as you explain. So I am not able to logg in to scenario 3.

Do you Know how  to solve this problem in the scenario 3?

Thanks a lot.

I came into the same problem as I posted here (http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=9058)

I also have mapped a network drive into a space inside the repository and not the root space. This option will return an error when check in/ou.

I've tried to map the drive to \\machinw_a\alfresco and everything gone fine.

This seems to be a limitation?
