Question about rules

I have a space set up with two rules that add aspects (versioanble, classifyable) to all incoming content. These rules are set to apply to subspaces. However, when I copy in a directory via the network folder, the rules are not applied.

Are space rules applied when content is added via FTP or network folder?

Hi,

Yes rules will be triggered regardless of how you put content into the repository (FTP, CIFS, JSR-170, Web Service …)

The rules may not be firing in your case because you are creating a folder, previously this creation event was not triggering the rules as you would expect.  This has been fixed in the release candidate 1.

Let me know how you get on,

Thanks,
Roy

Thanks for your response.

Another question: I was trying to create a rule to only make *.xml files Classifyable, but it did not trigger properly. Is this another bug? I was unable to get it to work for *.txt files either.

Hi,

What you are tring to do should work.

Are you using RC1 or PR6?  I'd recommend updating to RC1 if you're able to.

What are you doing to trigger the rule?  What type of rule have you created?  Inbound I presume.

I'll try the scenario you mention out here and see if I can reproduce the problem.

Thanks,
Roy
