Process instance diagram generation

Hi,

Is it possible to generate a process instance diagram with custom shapes/styles for the various activities? As I see the Java AWT api is used to generate the process instance diagram. But with process diagram generation I could change the svg files which are used for the generation. Is something similar possible with process instance diagram instead of writing/changing code.
