Problems while building activiti from source

I tried to build activiti from the source by following Activiti developers guide.
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/ACT/Developers+Guide
But when I run 'ant clean distro', it seems unable to find any packages.
After installing these jars manually,
aopalliance-1.0.jar
asm-commons-3.2.jar
cglib-2.2.jar
commons-codec-1.2.jar
doxia-modules-apt.1.1.2.jar
maven-common-artifacts-filters-1.3.jar
maven-surefire-common-2.7.1.jar
plexus-utils-2.0.5.jar
spring-jdbc-3.0.3.RELEASE.jar
spring-orm-3.0.3.RELEASE.jar
surefire-api-2.7.1.jar
surefire-booter-2.7.1.jar

There are errors when building activiti spring:

Hi,

I`ve tried it with the actual sources again - without having problems. Have you installed maven? What happens if you type "mvn" at your shell?

Best regards

Michael

Yes I do. The problem is I cannot find the resources anyway. I run mvn compile of some projects under the modules folder. But I got infos like:
Downloading: http://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/org/activiti/activiti-spring/5.9-SNAPSHOT/ac...
[INFO] Unable to find resource 'org.activiti:activiti-spring:jar:5.9-SNAPSHOT' in repository jboss (http://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public)
Downloading: http://maven.restlet.org/org/activiti/activiti-spring/5.9-SNAPSHOT/activiti-spring-5.9-SNAPSHOT.jar
[INFO] Unable to find resource 'org.activiti:activiti-spring:jar:5.9-SNAPSHOT' in repository maven-restlet (http://maven.restlet.org)

Is it because I am in China?
