Hi

How are these files added?
Check that the mimetype is correct in the node browser.

Hi Andy,

we are in enterprise version. So we seen that with support, and they ask us to try to update poi library.
We did it and It's working now.
Probably this come from our environment (Websphere+Oracle) because we did test on Tomcat+MySQL and it was working.

Thanks for your answer.
Kind regards.

Hi all!!!

I'm facing the same problem (PPT files don't get indexed)…

I've replaced the POI library, but it still doesn't work… Am I missing something? Everythings OK with DOC or XLS files…

When I search for "nint" my Alfresco installation shows my PPt files, telling me that they didn't get indexed.. and when I try to explicity run a action to transform PPt files to plain text files, I get a message telling me that this transformation isn't available.

One thing isn't clear: to accomplish this transformation (PPT to plain text) does OpenOffice have to be running?

Can somebody help me?

Yes, you need OO for both.  Indexing relies on text conversion.  I'm experiencing some problems with OO 3.0 Beta2 on Leopard (see http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14102)

Thanks for the answer a5sk4s !!!

Just to confirm: for indexing DOC or XLS, OO is not required.. but, for indexing PPt files, OO is required…

Is that right?

Hi al!!!

I1ve istalled OpenOffice  and PPT-to-TXT transformations are doing well, but , when searching for a PPT document, it doesn't get returned…

Can someone, please, tell me what can I look for to get PPT-searching working??
