Hi,

I have just installed Alfresco 1.4 war on an existing Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 on a Ubuntu Server.  I am getting an error in the web client when I try to add an aspect to an item using the Run Action Wizard or the Rules Wizard.  The following error text is outputted in the web client when I select 'add aspect to item' and then click 'Set Values and Add':

I reviewed this forum entry: http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=3708&sid=0dde572e44ed24731b667e32e55ace60
which appears to be the same problem but I have not attempted to add any custom dialog.

Before installing 1.4, I had 1.3 running with no problems performing the same actions.

Is there a problem with my install?

Thanks,
John Jackson

It may be that the new WAR file has not deployed fully, or i should say it hasn't overwritten the older files from your 1.3 installation.

Try doing a completely clean deploy i.e. remove the <tomcat>/webapps/alfresco folder, remove the <tomcat>/work and <tomcat>/temp folders and overwrite the <tomcat>/webapps/alfresco.war file.

Re-start Tomcat and see if you get the same issue. My guess is that the old 1.3 JSP is being used instead of the newer 1.4 version.

Thanks!  That did it.  It works great now.
