Thank you,
Vincent

Hi, if you want, you just have to download the alfresco.war, add it the 3 xml files and deploy it with the Liferay auto deploy.

Good luck

Oh, i think your error is a duplicate librairy in your tomcat app server.

So you should remove "portlet-api-lib.jar" from "webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\lib" and try to restart your Tomcat.

I hope it is that…

Is this for alfresco 2.0? i can´t find xml files for portlet definitions!
where are they?

Thanks!

yes, it is for Alfresco 2.0. So you can take the Alfresco 1.4 xml file to use them with 2.0.. it works fine.

Good luck.

Hello all,
we are starting a project where we are going to develop a set of portlets exposing Alfresco ECM (and possibly WCM) contents through Liferay portal.

The main application which will be used for inserting content will be Alfresco Web Client while the portlets will deliver the published content.

One of our open points is the alfresco APIs that we will use to develop the portlets which access the  alfresco ECM managed content.
We want to be able to phisically decouple alfresco from liferay, thus our portlet should be able to access one content repository  possibly  shared by multiple portal servers (front office) and multiple alfresco web clients (back office).

One option is to use Alfresco Web Services. They allow to have alfresco and liferay on different servers, but at the moment they do not expose the full set of available functionalities. In addition the SOAP protocol could introduce some overhead. The roadmap of the 2.1 release states that the full set of web services will be available. Could you confirm this ?

It looks that the Alfresco Foundation Services API would allow to exploit the full set of available services, but we do not know if it is possible to deploy portlets (in general on more servers)  which access the same content repository (shared also by the alfresco Web Client application) by using the Alfresco Foundation Services API.
If we understand correctly, this architecture looks feasible according to the http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_Repository_Architecture, deployment Option 3 "Clustered Repository Server", where each web server could be one liferay instance with our portlets or an Alfresco Web Client.

Is our interpretation correct ?
In general, which API do you suggest to use ? (or would you use to develop the Portlet SDK  you are mentioning?)

Thanks,
Adriano

Thank you very mutch for your quick answer.
Actually it looks that web scripts could allow us to develop most of our content delivery needs.
Just one question…
Could you anticipate when Web Scripts service will be available, at least for starting the developments (the wiki refer to the 2.1, scheduled as beta version for mid of April) ?
