Permission Scheeme

I created a private site and added a group to it as Private. When i try to add a member of that group with any other role it does not allow me to do so. Please advice what should be done

Please try to be more clear about the exact steps you've taken in order for us to reproduce the issue.

1) created a Private site.
2) created a User group and invited the whole group to this private site as consumer.

Problem 1:
when i try to search any of the members of the user group under the site. i do not see them.
Problem 2:
when i try to enhance the permission of a member from Consumer to Contributor i cannot do it.

When you add a group to a site, it's the group that gets added, not the individual users.

Problem 1 - I agree you should be able to search on group member, but this isn't currently possible.
Problem 2 - You'll have to invite the users you want to promote either individually, or add them to another group and promote that group.

By the way, you can use a service like ImageShack to attach images to forum posts.
