hi,
i'am using alfresco in order to share my documents. i uploaded documents on FTP, created users and groups but i can't restrict access to my folders! for example i need that the folder called "DESIGNER" will be only visible for designer's group memebrs. is it possible? if yes how? i tried a lot of things but for the moment everyone can see(and so read) everything.
ps : i'm using this alfresco version "alfresco-1.3.0-windows-community.exe"
thank's for your help.

Yes you can restrict access to a folder/space. Go to the details page for a space and in the actions panel choose "Manage Space Users".
This dialog allows you to choose users and groups and their role within the space. Permissions are inherited from parent spaces so if you have granted access to everyone at a higher level these will cascade down. To stop the cascade deselect the "Inherit Parent Space Permissions" checkbox, this will mean the space will only have the permissions you have defined.
Hope that makes sense!
