Hello everybody,

I've got a lot of trouble in order to make Alfresco properly working, I had a some problems with OpenOffice (connection to OpenOffice could not eastablished) but I finally find out what to do to make this warning disappear. And now I have no more message refering to OpenOffice in catalina.out when I start Alfresco, but I can't launch OpenOffice any longer!

When I type openoffice on the command line, it gives me the hand back straightaway without any output :
$ openoffice
$

I see no output either on Alfresco's logging files nor on /var/log/messages. I know that it is coming from this process :
$ ps -ef | grep openoffice
stage    10599 10573  0 11:32 pts/0    00:00:01 /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin -accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager -nologo -headless -nofirststartwizard

EDIT : when I try to launch this process manually and then type openoffice I got some errors :
$ soffice "-accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager" -nologo -headless -nofirststartwizard &
[1] 14588
$ openoffice

** (process:14610): WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary / abnormal early exit …

I don't understand why this process is preventing any new instance of OpenOffice to be opened….  :?
Can someone help me?

Problem solved : just launch Alfresco as root and OpenOffice will work for normal user.  Smiley Happy

Obviously, when OpenOffice is launched in headless mode, it is impossible to open an other instance of OpenOffice under the same user account! Under 2 different, it seems to well work.
