Online Edit: Microsoft Office crashes after Patch Day Oct 2015

Dear community,

I am running an Alfresco Community Edition 5.0d 64bit on Ubuntu 14.04 with a https-enabled Sharepoint protocol. Until Oct 13 everything worked smoothly, i.e. Online Edit worked like a charm.

On Oct 13 a large patch was distributed that affected among others almost all Office products. After installing the patch every time I open a Office (2010) document via Online Edit it crashes. That means, I am asked for my credentials and then after submitting them Word/Excel/… crashes.

Is it really possible that this is connected with the update? Anyone else experiences that behaviour? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello Peter!
We have the same Error since Oct 14. We are running an Alfresco Community 5.0d and Alfresco Community 4.2c and since the last Windows Update for Microsoft Office 2010 the documents crashes everytime via online edit.
Does anyone have a solution?

After some digging and no solutions I decided to setup a new server with different settings (before I used Apache with mod_proxy for SSL, now I tried Jelastic with out of the box settings and JCEKS keystore for SSL) and had the same results. Office 2010 keeps crashing every single time and makes Alfresco Online Edit unusable.

This can't be just me and tatatanja alone, right? Or do I miss something?

We uninstalled the Windows Update KB3055034, no more crash.
