Old component code hanging around?

Hi everybody,

I was looking in Alfresco code and I found out the slingshot properties file contains:

header.search.default=Enter search terms...

which is referred in this component

./tomcat/webapps/share/components/header/header.js

I fail to identify this code inside of share, as it's supposed to be at the top right search field which I believe is now handled by aikau.

Means this YUI component is deprecated and should be dropped from Alfresco?

Cheers

When we change the header in Share (from 4.1 to 4.2) we made a decision to retain the original header components and source code in order to allow customizations to be written to swap the original header back in. Whether or not anyone took that option I don't know, but I'm not sure what harm there is in retaining that code for the time being.

Hi Dave,

thanks for your reply. I believe there's no harm at all, just as I'm at the beginning to understand the transition to aikau I was confused because I didn't know for sure this code was unplugged from the rest.

I discovered that for a specific reason, there's someone who's caring of adapting the properties to our needs and found out this string in slingshot.properties but couldn't see it on the share interface. So I dig into that..and I remember the search switched to aikau but I was not sure about it.

Thanks again and great work with aikau,

looking forward to get deeper into aikau and dojo!
