Office Plugin - doesn't know about Alfresco content

I have installed the most recent 2.1 community final Office Plugin in Word 2003 and Excel 2003.

Most things look right, however when I open a document stored in Alfresco or save a new document into Alfresco, the Document Details window never shows the document information, always has 'This current  document is not managed by Alfresco". It does allow me to save the doc, and does update Alfresco.

Tried it both from Word and Excel. My configuration is all running through the web, not using CIFS, so that is not filled in, in the configuration.

Hi,

Have you configured the WebDAV path in the configuration page?

thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Yes, I have WEBDAV configured and the Alfresco IP configured, just not the CIFS config.

How are you opening or saving the document? Can you give as much detail as possible please, e.g. web browser, paths being used, etc.

Thanks,
Mike

Installed the 2.1 final from Sourceforge link.
Using Office 2003, Word SP2

Configuration
Web Client URL: http://serverIP:8080/alfresco/
WebDavURL: http://serverIP:8080/alfresco/webdav/

IE: 7.0
Windows XP SP2

Start Word, Click Alfresco Button, Login to the server, browse to my home space. Click the icon beside a document or the document name. Either case, the file opens in Word and the alfresco panel refreshes to show the document details page with the 'Not managed by alfresco' message. I can change document, click file save, alfresco updates. Close document. Use the panel to browse to my space again, time and size have been updated, so it does update the server.

Hi,

When it's in this condition, could you right-click inside the Alfresco pane, choose properties and then send me the URL please? Use a PM if you like along with your configured server properties - then I'll be able to see exactly what's going on.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi, I have the same problem as described earlier. I keep on getting the error "http://localhost:8080/alfresco/wcservice/office/documentDetails?p=&e=doc" in the Alfresco Office-Plugin-Window. The document is in the Alfresco repository (mapped file drive) where I open it from sucessfully. But then the mentioned message appears. Another problem which might be connected is that I cannot use the "Insert file into Current document" icon within the Spaces-Browser. Trying so I receive a Script error.

@Mike: This is my URL that you were requesting http://localhost:8080/alfresco/wcservice/office/documentDetails?p=&e=doc

Any help would be appreciated!   Smiley Happy

The URL indicates that the add-in hasn't picked up that you've loaded a document from Alfresco at all (the p= part of the URL is completely blank).

How have you configured the add-in settings? Also, how exactly is your mapped drive mapped?

Also: do you have any details on that script error please?

Thanks,
Mike
