hi team,

Why runtime service not support deleteUserIdnetityLink or some reasons not to expose this api? Because in some circumstance, we want to remove users who are not interested in dedicated process instance.

Originally, the default identity component was meant to be a 'demo' version. We assumed that people would used LDAP and others in real product systems. Hence why the deletes were never implemented.

However, they are easily added. Create a jira issue if you deem it important so we and you can follow up the issue.

The situation is I need to add/delete users to/from the monitor list of one process instance dynamically, may be in a particular task.  So these users can trace/un-trace the process and get the latest status/details.

I wonder if there are better solutions to do this and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That use case sounds different from deleting users. Why not keep a simple mapping somewhere between process instance - user somwehere in the layer above Activiti?
