Newbie of Alfresco

Dear all,
I am a newbie in here. I am a student that now doing final year project.
I hope that i wont post this message in wrong place. if yes, please forgive me.

I need Alfresco to assist me in my project. Is this software free for me if i am just using as my research. Is the source code is freely for me to research?

Yes the community edition of the software is completely free to use and access to the source that you can download from SourceForge or from our public SVN repository is completely free. You only need to pay for a license (Enterprise version) if you require support or for what is basically "insurance" for the software. You won't require those for a uni project
