We created a new sub-forum in the "End User Discussions" category called "User Research". The goal of the this forum is to improve Alfresco user interaction design by making it easier for the Alfresco UX team to communicate with end users.
Alfresco has been taking a more careful approach to how we design our products. We hired a team of user interaction (UX) professionals whose goal is to better understand how the products get used in regular work and make it more effective.
We recently held an Office Hours conversation where the UX team explained their role and answered some questions. You can see that conversation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lawAQ_f810
One of the main themes of that broadcast was how to collect input on the Alfresco products and get that input incorporated into our planning process. This forum seems like a good way to do that.
When the UX team has a specific question that they are researching, they plan to post it here. This usually takes the form of a survey that we would like you to pass to the people who use Alfresco in your organization. You can provide further input as a conversation on the topic started by the UX team.
As Richard says, we're a growing User Experience team and we need input from actual users, of varying roles (content creators / collaborators, content consumers, developers, IT admins and so on).
If you have any questions (or ideas how we can find more users to talk with) please let me know.
