Need to start on Alfresco

Hi Everyone,

I have downloaded the alfresco version and installed the same. I need to start doing some samples using API provided by alfresco. The functionalities like Checkin,Checkout using API from my custom java class.
I have also checked out the source code.

Can someone kindly guide me through this on how to start with.

This will be greatly helpful for me.

I would recommend buying Jeff Potts' Alfresco Developer Guide

It's got examples and help for all the stuff you're asking about.
