Need Help! Ran Hot Backup and Screwed up Lucene Index

I was wondering if anybody could help me out.  I ran a Hot Backup (Alfresco was left running) by mistake for Alfresco and learned the hard way that I should have done a cold backup instead.  Now the lucene index is all screwed up and I can no longer access the documents.  The data is still present on the Oracle DB, however I have been working on accessing the documents for the last several days with no luck.  I am using the 2.1 Community version.

Any help would be GREATLY appeciated as we have a hard deadline tomorrow and I need these docs ASAP.

I forgot to add that I do not have a backup file from which I can restore the index.
