Hi,
for MySQL it pretty much depends on how you installed your MySQL server.
Default port for MySQL is 3306 unless you specified a different port. For user try root. Password as you specified during setup.
For HSQL: as far as I understood it, HSQL is running in embedded not in server mode. Don't know if there is a simple way to do what you are trying with HSQL. If you still want to check out the tables, use MySQL instead.
