My Tasks - Always Fails

Hi all. I downloaded Alfresco Community 3.3 and am evaluating it for my company. I really like some aspects of it, but I am having trouble with one feature right out of the box. I installed on win XP using the exe installer. Install went well. Using Share works well except whenever I try to do anything in the My Tasks Dashlet, it never works. I get a Failed To Action Task message.

Here is an example:
- User requests access to site
- site owner has the activity in My Tasks to approve or reject
- site owner clicks either option and the Fail message comes up

I tried a whole variety of other tasks and they all fail.

Another example is accepting a workflow request.

I looked in the error log and one error I've seen is "Invalid Global ID" errors.

Any ideas? I really want to get this working as Alfresco looks awesome. I would think that out of the box the features would work.

That sounds like a pretty serious regression bug. Could you grab the log and create a new bug report in JIRA please (see the link in my signature).

Thanks for the link. I see a bug reported that is two months old that addresses this: https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-260

It would be nice to have it fixed! Is it a better idea to install 3.2 for now?

Hello,

Iam experiencing exactly the same issues. After an upgrade from 3.2r2 to 3.3 all My Tasks I try to End or accept result in a Failure.
There's nothing noticeable in the log files however.

Hmmm….that issue seems to be login - probably a different thing.

Mike - If you can ask the developers to put the My Task bug fix into the next community release they mention is going out very soon, that would be awesome. As of right now, having it so no one can complete tasks inside of Share makes the application very un-useful and I don't see how the company would want anyone to install the software with that large of a bug.

Awesome! I just noticed that  :lol:

I'm already very excited - is there any general estimate of when the release/fix would come out? I need to figure out if I should just wait a few days type of thing, or work on something else for a few weeks, etc….
