Microsoft Excel 97-2003 takes at least ten to thirty seconds in order to save a XLS document to the CIFS repository in Alfresco 1.4 (Windows Server 2003-32bit, MySQL, 1.5GB Java memory, Tomcat-only, 2 X 3Ghz DualCore Xeon SMP, SAS HDDs), but saving a Word document takes only 1 to 2 seconds…
Is there a way to reduce the upload time a bit? To increase the “upload“ cache maybe? If not, is it possible to turn-off the indexing for the ".XLS" files and how?
