Hi All
I was going through directory[folder] permision. I have seethat there are
    Collaboration Priveleges
    Contributirs Privleges
    Customer Privileges
    No Previleges

Even If I give 'No priveleges' to the groups for a particular folder for groups, it does not stop the user from viewing the folder contents and the file names inside the 'No Priveleges' folder

There are buisenss requirement in which some users or groups should not be able to see the folder structure or contents in it, How could I achive it using the present group and user permission. I did try with the existing permision and groups, it was not able to do it.
How could I gain more control on the foders and files

Hi,
maybe the user you are using is owner of the content you are trying to view.
Even if you modify pernissions, an owner of a node has always coordinator privileges on it.
You can use a generic admin user/group to archive content, so other users must abide to permissions you give to the folder.

Hope this can help.

Regards,
Andrea

Hi Andrea
Thanks for the reply
The users in the 'No Privleges' group did not create the document or folder.
Still the users in 'No Privlieges' can see the folders and files in the directory.

Hi bisana,
use the Alfresco Web Client and using search you can find the document/folder, since all nodes are kept into Alfresco repository.
When you find the object you need, click on node properties, and then you can use Manage space users(for spaces) or manage content users from the right menu and look at permissions set for the node.

As an alternative, if you know the node id, you can use Alfresco Administrator's Node Browser and after selecting the correct SpacesStore from the left menu, perform a query using that noderef as key.
When you find the node you will receive all information about aspect, properties, associations and permissions.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Andrea
